ROXAS ADDS ANOTHER POINT OVER LEGARDA

Senator Manuel Roxas II picked up another percentage point from last month’s poll to increase his advantage over his closest rival Senator Loren Legarda, and to 10-percentage points, the latest Manila Standard poll.

Thirty-nine percent of the 2,500 registered voters surveyed from March 21 to 23 said they would vote for Roxas as their vice president, as against 29 percent for Legarda.

The Liberal Party candidate maintained his 39 percent rating obtained in the February 20 to 26 survey. Legarda, the Nacionalista Party candidate, slipped by one percentage point from last month’s 30 percent. Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay improved his ratings to 17 percent from last month’s 15 percent, while former Metro Manila Development Authority chairman Bayani Fernando and administration candidate Edu Manzano both lost a percentage point to poll 3 percent each.

Roxas maintained his lead by keeping the same levels in Metro Manila, North and Central Luzon and Mindanao. He gained two additional points in the Visayas but shed a few percentage points in South Luzon.

Legarda lost three points in Metro Manila and the Visayas but maintained her standing in Luzon. She picked up four points in Mindanao.
